The Hetch Hetchy Power Plant supplies electricity as part of the San Francisco Water and Power system, using water that flows from the aqueduct that comes down the hill via penstocks and ends up in the small reservoir here. The water then goes through a 157 mile aqueduct under Don Pedro reservoir to the Bay Area.
