OLD DARDANELLE BRIDGE. Historic bridge, built 1933. Hwy 108, near Dardanelle.
HAYES STATION. Historic site. From marker: "Completed in 1860 by innkeeper David Hayes in anticipation of the soon-to-be completed Sonora-Mono Toll Rd. By 1865, with the road completed, wagons, stages, and pack trains used the station as a mail, relay, and rest stop for weary travelers and teamsters ...". Hwy 108, near Dardanelle.
RECREATION
COLUMNS OF THE GIANTS. Short trail offers closer views of the unusual basalt formations. Has interpretative signs. Hwy 108.
DOUGLAS PICNIC AREA. Picnic area with picnic table and grill. Short trail takes you to nice view of Stanislaus River. Rest room (primitive). Hwy 108, near Dardanelle.
