Logging Museum. Museum to exhibit the history of logging in the Sierra Nevada. Has inside exhibits, a gift shop, and outside exhibits (some of which you will see in the photographs of Arnold at the right of the maps). White Pines Dam. White Pines Dam is part of a reservoir system that supplies drinking water to Calaveras County. The dam was completed in 1970. Swimming and fishing are allowed (no fishing from beach next to parking lot). Sail and rowboats allowed, no motor boats. The sign at the edge of the parking lot gives details on the construction of the lake and the history of the town of White Pines. Hours: Dawn to dark.

Arnold Rim Trail North Trailhead. North end of Arnold Rim Trail, near the Logging Museum in White Pines. Map of the trail available from ranger station in Hathaway Pines, or a better map from Sierra Nevada Adventure Company in Arnold. The south end of the trail is near Avery at Avery Sheep Ranch Road. This trail is for hikers and bicycles (or snowshoeing and cross-country skiing when appropriate). Motorized vehicles not allowed. Photo is from parking lot of Logging Museum.
